Leeward Fishing, owned by Brian Pietersz, is located in Willemstad at Curacao, an island in the Caribbean, tens of miles from the Venezuelean coast.
Curacao is the largest island of the Netherlands (or Dutch) Antilles and part of the Leeward Antilles along the South American continent, the southern chain of Lesser Antilles. A Google Earth image gives you an excellent view about the location of the Leeward Antilles. in the Caribbean Sea.
The Caribbean has some of the best fishing grounds in the world. Saltwater flyfishing for bonefish is popular as is deep-sea fishing for bluefish, swordfish, shark, marlin, and other billfish. These waters have also seen some big catches: many of the International Game Fishing Association's world records were registered here. Anglers will also find barracuda, bonefish, kingfish, tarpon, amberjack, grouper, and snapper closer to shore. Many islands hold local fishing tournaments that add to the excitement.
Leeward Fishing offers you the following fish locations:
CURACAO
Curacao has a protected National Underwater Park, locating the riff at the south side for about 15 miles long.
You can go trolling there close under the coast, with a little boat for tarpon, snook, bonefish and trevally. Every one of them is a terrific sportsfish which can be caught with a light spinning rod or a flyfishing outfit.
Those who prefer the bigger job, can indulge in the Big Game fishing further from the coast or open sea. Here, however where you need at least a boat in the higher forties because of the waves. You can catch barracuda, wahoo, dolphin, tuna, marlin, and many other fish.
Also the locations below can only safely be reached by a larger boat, higher in the 40 feet, (about 15 meters) because of the waves caused by the powerfull trade winds.
